Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Local Bank Officer (LBO) post must possess a Bachelor's Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University or Institution recognized by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies.

Applicants must have obtained the required educational qualification on or before the last date of online registration (09 August 2026). At the time of online application, candidates should enter the percentage of marks obtained in graduation exactly as per their university records. If the university awards CGPA or grades, candidates must convert them into percentage according to the university's conversion formula and produce the supporting certificate during document verification.

Work Experience

One of the major eligibility conditions for this recruitment is prior banking experience.

Candidates must have at least one year of post-qualification work experience in:

Scheduled Commercial Banks, or

Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) included in the Second Schedule of the RBI Act.

The required experience should be acquired after completing graduation and must be valid as on 09 August 2026.

Applicants must also produce an experience certificate in the prescribed format issued by their employer. Previous service in non-eligible organizations will not be considered for this requirement. 

Local Language Requirement

Since the recruitment is state-specific, candidates must be proficient in the local language of the state for which they are applying.

Selection Process

The selection process for Punjab National Bank Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026 consists of four stages:

1. Online Written Examination
