The Government of Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for a grand celebration of the 11th International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2025, with Visakhapatnam as the primary venue. This year’s event is especially significant as it marks the 10th anniversar of the United Nations General Assembly’s declaration of International Yoga Day. The state-level celebration at R K Beach, Visakhapatnam, will be graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, making it a momentous occasion.
To ensure widespread participation, the Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has launched a month-long campaign titled "YOGANDHRA", themed "Yoga for One Earth, One Health." This initiative aims to promote yoga through a series of activities at the state, district, mandal, village, and school levels, fostering community engagement and awareness about the benefits of yoga.

Action Plan and Schedule
The School Education Department has outlined a comprehensive action plan to ensure the success of YOGANDHRA 2025. Below is the detailed schedule of activities leading up to the grand celebration on June 21, 2025:
1. State-Level Training of Trainers (ToT)
Dates: May 27–28, 2025
Timings: 8:00 AM–10:00 AM & 3:00 PM–5:00 PM
Details: Online training for one male and one female Physical Education Teacher from each educational division, conducted by the State Special Officer for International Yoga Day 2025 and the Secretary, SGF AP.
2. District-Level ToT
Date: June 29, 2025
Timings:
- Zone I & II: 9:30 AM–12:00 PM
- Zone III & IV: 3:00 PM–5:30 PM
- **Details**: In-person training for one male and one female Physical Education Teacher from each mandal at division headquarters, overseen by Deputy Educational Officers and SGF Secretaries.
3. Mandal-Level ToT
Date: June 4, 2025 (covering 50% of schools)
Timings: 9:00 AM–10:00 AM
Details: In-person training for all Physical Education Teachers and one active teacher from each school under all managements, conducted at mandal headquarters by Mandal Educational Officers and Mandal Sports Coordinators.
4. School-Level Common Yoga Protocol Training
Dates: June 12–18, 2025 (3:30 PM–4:15 PM) & June 19–20, 2025 (9:00 AM–9:45 AM)
Details: Training for all students as part of physical training, conducted by headmasters and school staff.
5. Yoga Competitions
School Level: June 17, 2025 (10:00 AM–11:00 AM)
Mandal Level: June 18, 2025 (10:00 AM–11:00 AM)
District Level: June 19, 2025 (10:00 AM–11:00 AM)
Details: Competitions to identify and award the best yoga performers, organized by headmasters, Mandal Educational Officers, and District Educational Officers.
6. Teachers’ Yoga Day
Date: June 7, 2025
Venue: DSA Stadium, Kakinada
Details: Organized by RJD Kakinada, DEOs, APCs, and SGF Secretaries of Kakinada, East Godavari, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema.
7. Children’s Yoga Day
Date: June 13, 2025
Venue: ASR Stadium, Eluru
Details: Organized by RJD Kakinada, DEO, APC, and SGF Secretary, Eluru.
8. International Yoga Day Celebration
Date: June 21, 2025
Details: All schools across the state will celebrate following the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH.
Coordinating Structure
To ensure smooth execution, the following officers are responsible for organizing yoga activities at various levels:
Instructions for Implementation
The School Education Department has issued the following guidelines to ensure effective participation:
1. Mandatory Participation: All educational institutions, including government, aided, and private schools, must participate in the celebrations.

3. Awareness Activities: Village- and school-level awareness programs should involve School Management Committees (SMCs), parents, and local communities.
4. Common Yoga Protocol Sessions: Conducted in all schools from June 12–20, 2025, to familiarize students with basic yoga practices.
5. Special Events: Teachers’ Yoga Day, Children’s Yoga Day, and yoga competitions to be held as per the schedule.
6. Final Celebration: On June 21, 2025, all schools must follow the Common Yoga Protocol for a unified celebration.
7. Reporting: Event reports and documentation must be submitted to the department by June 25, 2025, for onward submission to the Ministry of AYUSH.
Nodal Officer for YOGANDHRA 2025
Dr. K.V. Srinivasulu Reddy, Director General of Education and Additional Director - IT, has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for YOGANDHRA 2025. He will oversee the effective implementation of all yoga activities across the state, in coordination with the Secretary, AP SGF, and District Educational Officers.
