About Central Bank of India
Established in 1911, Central Bank of India holds the distinction of being the first Indian commercial bank wholly owned and managed by Indians. With a business turnover exceeding ₹7,00,000 crores, the bank is inviting applications for 4,500 apprenticeship training seats across India for the financial year 2025-26.
Key Details of the Apprenticeship Program
- Number of Training Seats: 4,500
- Application Period: Online registration opens on June 7, 2025, and closes on June 23, 2025.
- Application Fee Payment: From June 7, 2025, to June 25, 2025.
- Tentative Online Exam Date: First week of July 2025.
- Training Duration: 12 months.
- Stipend: ₹15,000 per month (no additional allowances or benefits).
Selected candidates will be placed in branches or offices across various regions at the bank’s discretion. The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary based on the bank’s requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this apprenticeship program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Nationality/Citizenship
A candidate must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intent to settle permanently, or
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries with the intent to settle permanently (subject to a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India).
Age
- Minimum: 20 years
- Maximum: 28 years (as of May 31, 2025)
- Candidates must be born between May 31, 1997, and May 31, 2005 (both dates inclusive).
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities):
- UR/EWS: 10 years
- OBC: 13 years
- SC/ST: 15 years
- Widows/Divorced Women/Legally Separated Women (not remarried): Up to 35 years (General/EWS), 38 years (OBC), and 40 years (SC/ST).
Educational Qualification
- A Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university by the Government of India or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Central Government.
- Candidates must have completed their graduation on or after January 1, 2021.
- Candidates must be registered on the NATS portal (https://nats.education.gov.in).
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be proficient in the local language (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) of the state they are applying for, as specified in Annexure-II of the official notification.
- Candidates with one year or more of training or job experience after graduation are not eligible.
- Candidates who have previously undergone or are currently pursuing apprenticeship training are not eligible.
Reservation Policy
The bank follows the Government of India’s reservation guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD categories. Key points:
- PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): Reservation is horizontal, and selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR-GEN).
- EWS: Candidates must produce an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a competent authority.
- OBC: Candidates in the creamy layer are not entitled to reservation benefits and must apply under the General category.
Selection Process
The selection process involves:
- Online Examination:
- Conducted by BFSI SSC (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance Sector Skill Council).
- Objective-type test with 100 questions, 100 marks, and a duration of 60 minutes.
- Sections include:
- Quantitative Aptitude (15 marks)
- Logical Reasoning (15 marks)
- Computer Knowledge (15 marks)
- English Language (15 marks)
- Basic Retail Products (10 marks)
- Basic Retail Asset Products (10 marks)
- Basic Investment Products (10 marks)
- Basic Insurance Products (10 marks)
- No negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Merit list based on exam performance, with tie-breakers resolved by age (older candidates ranked higher).
- Test of Local Language:
- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the local language of the state they apply for.
- Document Verification:
- Candidates must submit original and self-attested photocopies of documents, including:

- Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or SSLC/Std. X Certificate)
