Samagra Shiksha, A.P SIEMAT Participation in the nationwide "The School Challenge: Towards a Tobacco-Free Generation" hosted in MyGov Innovate Platform till 31st July, 2025-Certain Instructions-Issued.

All the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators, Samagra Shiksha in the State are informed that the Department of School Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi has organised a National Workshop Tobacco-Free Educational Institutions (ToFEI) on Worls No Tobacco Day (WNTD), 31st May, 2025. On this occasion, Secretary, DoSEL. launched "The School Challenge: Towards a Tobacco-Free Generation", which calls upon all schools in the country to unleash their creativity for mobilising communities in spreading awareness about the harmful effects to tobacco. The challenge which aims at shaping students into agents of change for establishing new societal norms promoting healthy and tobacco-free lifestyles has now been made live on the MyGov Innovate platform and can be accessed at: https://innovateindia.mygov.in/world-no-tobacco-day-awareness-rally/.
It is further informed that as part of this challenge, schools across India are encouraged to participate in four creative and impactful activities involving maximum number of students:
Rallies: Schools to conduct student-led awareness rallies to reach out to the community.
Nukkad Nataks (Street Plays): to convey anti tobacco messages.
Poster Making Competitions: to visually highlight the importance of tobacco-free living.
Slogan/Poem Writing: to living literary creativity around health and wellness themes.
In this connection, it is informed that the School Challenge will be open till 31st July, 2025 and will culminate in a National award cum felicitation ceremony. All students of the winning schools who have participated in the activities will receive medallions and appreciation certificates. The winning schools will also get an opportunity to feature in PM e-Vidya Channels.
Further, it is informed that all entries for the School Challenge are to be uploaded through the MyGov Innovate portal. A Comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) detailing the implementation and evaluation process at the State, District and School levels is enclosed for perusal.
In this regard, it is informed that the State may sensitize their School Heads about the challenge and encourage them to participate enthusiastically. The steadfast cooperation of all the concerned is requested in ensuring wide dissemination and active engagement of schools in this important initiative which will not only empower students as advocates for healthy living but be a meaningful step towards achieving the collective goal of a "Tobacco Free Generation" by 2030.
Hence, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators, Samagra Shiksha in the State are requested to issue instructions to all the Schools Heads under their jurisdiction to participate in "The School Challenge: Towards a Tobacco-Free Generation" and all entries for the School Challenge are to be uploaded through the MyGov Innovate portal.
