Vacancy Details

Punjab & Sind Bank has announced a total of 750 vacancies across various states. The number of vacancies is provisional and may change based on the bank's requirements.

Candidates can apply for a vacancy in only one state.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, ensure you meet the following criteria:

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit (as of August 1, 2025)

  •  Minimum Age: 20 years
  •  Maximum Age: 30 years

Age relaxation is available for certain categories:

  •  Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years
  •  Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer): 3 years
  •  Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years
  •  Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years
  •  Ex-Servicemen: 5 years

Educational and Professional Qualification (as of September 4, 2025)

  • Educational Qualification: A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India. 
  • Post-qualification Work Experience: 18 months or more of work experience as an Officer in a Public Sector Bank or Regional Rural Bank on a regular basis. Experience from Cooperative banks, private banks, payment banks, small finance banks, or fintech companies will not be considered.

Mandatory Language Proficiency

Proficiency in the local language (reading, writing, and understanding) of the applied state is a mandatory requirement. A language proficiency test will be conducted as part of the selection process. Candidates who have studied the specified local language as a subject in their 10th or 12th standard are not required to take this test.

Selection Procedure

The selection process involves a written test and a personal interview.

Written Test

The online examination will consist of four sections with a total of 120 questions and a duration of 120 minutes:

  •  English Language: 30 questions (30 marks, 30 minutes)
  •  Banking Knowledge: 40 questions (40 marks, 40 minutes)
  •  General Awareness/Economy: 30 questions (30 marks, 30 minutes)
  •   Computer Aptitude: 20 questions (20 marks, 20 minutes)

There are minimum qualifying marks for each section:

  •  Unreserved & EWS categories: 40%
  •  Reserved categories: 35%

The final merit list will be prepared based on a combined score, with the online test having a 70% weightage and the personal interview having a 30% weightage.

Pay Scale and Other Benefits

Selected candidates will be appointed on a regular basis with the following pay scale for Officer - JMGS I: Rs. 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920.

Additional benefits include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or Leased Accommodation, City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), Medical, and other perquisites as per the bank's rules.

Other Key Information

  • Credit History: Applicants must have a healthy credit history with a minimum CIBIL score of 650 or above at the time of joining.
  • Probation Period & Bond: The probation period is 6 months, and selected candidates are required to sign a service bond for a period of 3 years.
