The application window is limited, so mark these dates on your calendar. The online registration period for the apprenticeship on the bank's website is from September 23, 2025, to October 12, 2025.
Before you apply, you must first register on the Apprenticeship portal at www.nats.education.gov.in. Only candidates with a 100% complete profile on this portal are eligible to apply for the training at Canara Bank.
There are a total of 3,500 training seats available across various states and union territories.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the program, you need to meet the following requirements as of September 1, 2025:
- Age: You must be at least 20 years old and no more than 28 years old. This means your birth date must be between September 1, 1997, and September 1, 2005 (inclusive of both dates).
- Educational Qualification: You must have a degree (graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India. It's crucial that you passed your graduation no earlier than January 1, 2022, and no later than September 1, 2025.
- Previous Experience: You are not eligible if you have previously undergone or are currently undergoing an apprenticeship with Canara Bank or any other organization. Candidates with one or more years of job experience after completing their educational qualification are also not eligible.
There are age relaxations for certain categories: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
Selection and Application Process
The selection process is based on a merit list prepared from the marks obtained in your 12th standard (HSC/10+2) or Diploma Examination. The minimum qualifying marks are 60% for General candidates and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

- Register on the Apprenticeship Portal: As mentioned earlier, register and complete your profile on www.nats.education.gov.in.
- Apply on the Bank's Website: Visit the Canara Bank website at www.canarabank.bank.in and navigate to the "Careers" section to find the application link for the apprenticeship program.
- Pay the Application Fee: The application fee is Rs. 500 for all candidates except those in the SC, ST, and PwBD categories, for whom the fee is waived.
- Complete the Online Form: Fill out the online application form with all the required details. You'll need to upload scanned images of your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration. The declaration must be in your own handwriting and in English.
Training and Stipend
The apprenticeship is a 12-month program. During this period, apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000. Canara Bank will pay Rs. 10,500, while the government's share of Rs. 4,500 will be credited directly to your bank account.
It's important to note that this is a training program, and apprentices will not be considered employees of the bank. The bank is under no obligation to offer you regular employment after the apprenticeship is complete.
