In exciting news for students across Andhra Pradesh, the Samagra Shiksha initiative is rolling out a massive distribution of Sports Kits to schools! This move aims to enhance physical education and sports activities from the primary level all the way up to senior secondary schools in the state.
The orders for the supply have been issued by the State Project Director, Sri B. Srinivasa Rao, I.A.S., to M/s. Excel Sports, Majestic Circle, Bangalore. This company is tasked with supplying the sports items to 2809 School Complex points throughout Andhra Pradesh.
What's Inside the Kit? A Look at the Equipment
The sports kits are packed with a wide variety of equipment for both indoor and outdoor games, featuring specific brands to ensure quality. The items cover a huge range of sports, ensuring students have access to diverse physical activities.
Key sports and equipment brands include:
* Athletics: Items like Discus, Javelin, High Jump Poles, Cones, and Frisbees are from the Excel brand. The 50m Tape is from Freeman.
* Team Sports: Basketballs, Footballs, and Netballs will be the popular NIVIA brand. Handballs will be from either Nivya/Spartan.
* Racquet/Net Sports: Badminton equipment (Cocks, Net, Shuttle Rockets) and Throwballs/Volleyball equipment will be primarily from Spartan.
* Individual Sports:
* Archery items like Arrows, Bows, and Target are all from Ruth India.
* Fencing gear (Foil, Sabre, Gloves, Mask) is from Extreem.
* Yoga Mats are supplied by Excel.
* Indoor Games: Kits include Carrom Board Sets and Chess Sets, both from the Excel brand.
The Distribution Process: A Coordinated Effort
The distribution is a carefully planned process to ensure the equipment reaches all the intended schools:
* Delivery to Cluster Points: M/s. Excel Sports will deliver the items to the designated Cluster Points.
* Receipt and Distribution: The Cluster Head Masters (H.Ms) are responsible for receiving the sports items from the supplier. They will then distribute the materials to the Head Masters or Principals of the concerned Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary Schools.
* Digital Stock Update: Upon receipt, the Cluster H.Ms must upload the stock received details in a specialized App developed by the Samagra Shiksha office.
* Monitoring: The Secretary, State School Games Federation (SGF) is instructed to monitor the supply status and ensure the distribution is completed on time.
