The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official public notice announcing the schedule and important instructions for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026. The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in two sessions — January 2026 and April 2026.
JEE Main 2026 Exam Schedule
Session 1 (January 2026):
- Online Application: October 2025 onwards
- Examination Dates: Between 21 – 30 January 2026
Session 2 (April 2026):
- Online Application: Last week of January 2026 onwards
- Examination Dates: Between 01 – 10 April 2026
Key Highlights of JEE Main 2026
- The exam will be held in two sessions to allow candidates more chances to improve their scores.
- NTA is expanding the number of exam cities to ensure wider participation and convenience for engineering aspirants.
- Special provisions will be made for PwD/PwBD candidates for a smoother exam experience.
- Candidate information such as Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Photograph, and Address will be auto-fetched from UIDAI Aadhaar for verification.
- If there is a name mismatch between the Aadhaar Card and the 10th certificate, candidates will have an option to correct it while filling out the online form.

Candidates are advised to fill the online application form carefully and ensure all details are accurate before submission. For any Aadhaar-related name mismatch issues, candidates can refer to the NTA’s previous notice dated 06 November 2024, available on the official website.
