ONGC Apprenticeship Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for 2623 Apprentice Posts
The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise under the Government of India, has released a notification for the engagement of Apprentices under The Apprentices Act, 1961.
This initiative is part of ONGC’s Skill Development Programme, offering training opportunities across 25 work centers in India.
The apprenticeship program aims to enhance the technical skills of youth in different trades and prepare them for industrial careers in the energy sector.
Total Vacancies
A total of 2623 Apprentice posts are available across the following sectors:
- Northern Sector – 165 posts
- Mumbai Sector – 569 posts
- Western Sector – 856 posts
- Eastern Sector – 458 posts
- Southern Sector – 322 posts
- Central Sector – 253 posts
Candidates can choose their preferred trade and location while applying, but final allocation will be as per ONGC’s discretion.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:
- ITI Certificate in relevant trade from NCVT or SCVT-recognized institute.
- Diploma in Engineering in the respective discipline.
- Graduate Degree such as B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, B.B.A, B.E, or B.Tech from a recognized university.
- Candidates should have passed their qualifying examination from an institution recognized by the relevant statutory authority such as AICTE or UGC.
Stipend Details
The monthly stipend for ONGC apprentices varies according to qualification:
- Graduate Apprentices will receive ₹12,300 per month.
- Diploma Apprentices will receive ₹10,900 per month.
- ITI Apprentices (1-year trade) will receive ₹9,600 per month.
- ITI Apprentices (2-year trade) will receive ₹10,560 per month.
- Candidates with 10th or 12th qualification will receive ₹8,200 per month.
- No additional allowances such as TA, DA, or lodging expenses will be provided.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be Indian citizens and domiciled in the district of the ONGC work center they are applying for.
- The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 24 years as on 6th November 2025.
- Candidates must have their Date of Birth between 6th November 2001 and 6th November 2007.
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST candidates – 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 years
- PwBD candidates – 10 years (up to 15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC)
Selection Process
- Selection will be based purely on merit, drawn from the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
- If two candidates have the same score, the older candidate will be given preference.
- No written test or interview will be conducted.
- The final list of selected candidates will be published on the official ONGC Apprentice portal.
Duration of Training
- The duration of ONGC Apprenticeship Training is 12 months for all trades and disciplines.
- After successful completion of training, candidates will receive an Apprenticeship Certificate as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.
