School Education Celebration of Constitution Day on 26th November 2025 Instructions issued by the Ministry of Education, Government of India-Certain Instructions-Issued

ORDER:
The attention of all Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers/District School Educational Officers, DIET Principals and Additional Project Co-ordinators in the State is invited to the reference read above, and they are informed that the Joint Secretary (C&M), Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi, has forwarded a D.O. letter to this office informing that 26th November is celebrated as Constitution Day to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
Further, every year, several activities highlighting and reiterating the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution are organized as part of the celebrations in all schools.
Accordingly, the following instructions shall be adhered to by all field functionaries and schools under their jurisdiction:
1. Reading of the Preamble:
All schools must conduct reading of the Preamble to the Constitution during the morning assembly on 26.11.2025.
Schools shall also encourage the use of platforms "constitution75.com" and "MyGov.in" for reading the Preamble in22 languages.
2. Reading of Preamble by Staff and Parents:
All teachers, parents, and school administrators shall read the Preamble at 11:00 AM on 26.11.2025, as instructed by the Ministry of Education.
3. Organisation of Activities:
- Schools shall organise the following activities in connection with Constitution Day:
- Talks/Seminars
- Quiz programmes
- Essay writing competitions
Painting competitions:
Awareness programmes on the Historical Evolution of the Constitution & Constitution Makers (as detailed in the enclosure provided by Government of India).
4. Participation in Online Quiz:
Students and teachers may be encouraged to participate in the Online Quiz on Constitutional Democracy hosted on MyGov.in.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
All schools shall upload Geotagged photographs / videos of activities conducted.
All Schools shall upload Certificates generated through reading of the Preamble and quiz participation, on their official social media handles and on the Google, link provided by MoE.

Field officers must ensure 100% compliance and submit consolidated reports to this office by 28.11.2025.
Therefore, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers/District School Educational Officers, DIET Principles and Additional Project Co-ordinators of the State are instructed to give wide publicity and ensure active participation of students, teachers, and staff, and take necessary action to make the programme a grand success.
