The Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced that Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra Day will be observed across the state on 15th November 2025, with the theme “Personal & Community Hygiene.”
According to the Memo No.2160597/CPR&RD/SWM/2025 dated 07-11-2025, issued by the Office of the Commissioner, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development (CPR&RD), Tadepalli, Guntur District, this initiative aims to spread awareness about cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation among citizens and communities.
Objectives:
- The main goal of the 2025 Swachha Andhra campaign is to:
- Promote personal cleanliness and community hygiene.
- Prevent open defecation and urination.
- Encourage good hygiene practices in homes, schools, and workplaces.
- Ensure that all public toilets are clean, functional, and accessible — including gender-segregated and disabled-friendly facilities.
- Strengthen public health, reduce communicable diseases, and improve well-being for all citizens.

Key Activities:
- As per the government’s directions, all Zilla Parishads, Gram Panchayats, and District Panchayat Officers are instructed to organize awareness programs and field activities such as:
- Concept communication drives to prevent open defecation.
Promotion of good sanitation and hygiene habits.
- WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) awareness sessions in schools and government offices
- Campaigns to promote the use of public toilets and maintain cleanliness.
- Coordination with line departments, schools, and local bodies for maximum participation
Expected Outcomes:
- Improved school attendance, especially among girl students.
- Reduction in school dropouts caused by poor sanitation facilities.
- Decrease in communicable diseases and child mortality rates.
- Better productivity and healthier living conditions for families.
- Stronger awareness about hygiene and sustainable community practices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Officials have been directed to ensure proper documentation of the activities with:
- Photographs, videos, and activity-wise reports
- Data collection on public participation and impact metrics.
