As per the Government Orders and the directions of the Hon'ble Chief Minister, the third Saturday of every month is being observed as "Swachha Andhra Day" across all districts, ULBs, and Government institutions to promote the values of cleanliness, public hygiene, and citizen participation.
Accordingly, the theme for December 2025 designated as "Opportunities in Environment." This theme focuses on enabling self-employment. entrepreneurship, and innovation in the environmental sector. All districts are requested to organize activities on 20th December 2025 to create awareness and build capacities that enhance green livelihoods and support circular economy models.
Suggested Activities:
Conduct Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EACs) in collaboration with MSME-DI, AP Skill Development Corporation, and Startup ecosystem partners.
Skill development workshops for youth, SHGs, sanitation workers, and informal waste workers on solid & liquid waste management enterprise opportunities.
Awareness sessions and help desks on financial assistance schemes such as NSKFDC, PMEGP, MSME, bank credit, and private financing avenues.
Identify and encourage sanitation workers and informal waste workers to transition into authorized entrepreneurial roles (collection, transportation, recycling & upcycling).
Organize exposure visits to waste processing plants like, MRFs, compost plants, poultry rendering plants, and recycling units to understand practicalbusiness models.
Stakeholder networking events collaboration with ULBs, industry partners, recyclers, PROs, startups, and investment facilitators.
Launch ULB-level business idea contests, innovation challenges, and "Indian Jugaad competitions with recognition and seed-support
Organize exhibitions/fairs showcasing recycled, upcycled, eco-friendly products developed by SHGs, startups, and local entrepreneurs
Demonstrations of decentralized waste-to-wealth technologies such as pyrolysis units, shredders, decorticators, biogas plants, bioenzyme making. composters, recycled tiles, fuel briquettes, etc.
Promotion of renewable energy and green mobility startups (e.g., low-cost air quality monitoring devices, EV services).
Campaigns encouraging households to segregate and supply recyclables directly to authorized scrap shops and rese resource recovery centers.
Create local waste resource inventory to map feedstock availability for circular economy micro-enterprises.
Special training programs for SHGs on menstrual waste solutions such as reusable cloth pads and menstrual cup promotion.
Skill competitions including best recycled crafts, upcycled decor, and school-level eco-entrepreneur challenges.
Collaborations with Polytechnic/Engineering Colleges for problem-solving initiatives on local environmental challenges.
Promote eco-friendly product markets and compost sales from ULB units to farmers, nurseries, and citizen groups.
Promote climate-smart agriculture and organic input production as a green livelihood model.
Implementation & Reporting Guidelines:
Ensure participation of all District and Zonal Special Officers.
Assign the Chief Planning Officer (CPO) as District Nodal Officer for monitoring and reporting through the SASA App.
Encourage inter-departmental coordination for effective execution. Involve Elected Representatives, Educational Institutions, and Civic Organizations Organiz
Submit documentation and success stories via photos/videos on the SASA platform.
All the District Collectors are requested to ensure effective execution of the above activities on 20.12.2025 and encourage wide participation of the public. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned departments and institutions.
All the District Collectors are requested to take up planning and coordination meetings to ensure participation of all line departments, ULBS/RLBs, institutions,
to be documented and schools, and public and public representatives. The outcomes are to be reported with Photographs, video reels, and activity-wise metrics.
