Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF & Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles — Recruitment 2026 notification. Online applications are open at ssc.gov.in.

Eligibility

• Nationality: Citizen of India.
• Age (as on 01-01-2026): 18–23 years (born between 02-01-2003 and 01-01-2008).
• Educational Qualification: Matriculation / 10th class pass from a recognized board as on 01-01-2026.

Age Relaxation: SC/ST — 5 years; OBC — 3 years; Ex-Servicemen — as per rules; special relaxations for children/dependents of 1984 riots victims, etc.

Exam Pattern — Computer Based Test (CBT)

Total: 80 questions / 160 marks / Duration: 60 minutes. Negative marking: 0.25 for each wrong answer. Question level: Matriculation (10th) level. Exam available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages (including Telugu).

Race / PET Timings

• Male: 5 km in 24 minutes (most areas).
• Female: 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes (most areas).
• Ladakh region: relaxations with shorter distances (see official notification).

How to Apply (Step-by-step)

1. Visit ssc.gov.in and complete One-Time Registration (OTR).
2. Fill the Online Application Form (capture a live photo if prompted).
3. Upload scanned signature (JPEG: 10–20 KB) and other details.
4. Pay fee online (if applicable) using UPI / Netbanking / Card.
5. Submit and download/print the confirmation for records.

Selection Process & Shortlisting

4. Document Verification (DV)
5. Final Merit & Force Allocation (based on preference & merit)

Approximately 8x candidates (state/category-wise) will be shortlisted from CBT to PET/PST; about 2x to DME/DV (subject to vacancies).

NCC Bonus Marks (If Applicable)

• NCC 'C' Certificate: +5% of maximum marks
• NCC 'B' Certificate: +3%
• NCC 'A' Certificate: +2%

Candidates must claim this in the online form and produce the original certificate at Document Verification.

Important Notes / Tips

• Ensure domicile/PRC and category certificates are ready (state-wise vacancies require domicile proof at DV).
• Use Aadhaar-based authentication if available — it eases document checks at exam centers.
• Capture live photograph as per instructions. Forms with incorrect photos/signatures may be rejected.
• Keep proof of OTR, registration number, email and mobile safe for communications with SSC.
