The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially announced the GPF interest rate at 7.1% per annum for the period 1st January 2026 to 31st March 2026 (4th Quarter of C.F.Y. 2025-26).

As per Finance (HR-III-Pension & GPF) Department G.O.RT.No.395, Dated: 24-02-2026, the state government has adopted the same interest rate as declared by the Government of India.

What is GPF?

General Provident Fund (GPF) is a retirement savings scheme for government employees. Employees contribute monthly from their salary, and the government pays interest on the accumulated amount.

As per Rule 13(1) of GPF (Andhra Pradesh) Rules 1935, the State Government determines the interest rate based on the Government of India guidelines.

The 7.1% interest rate is applicable to the following funds maintained by the Government of Andhra Pradesh:

1. General Provident Fund (Andhra Pradesh) Rules 1935

2. Electricity Department Provident Fund Rules

3. Emergency Cut and Compulsory Saving Rules, 1949

4. Government Distilleries Employees Provident Fund

5. Andhra Pradesh Government Life Insurance Fund

6. Andhra Pradesh Employees Welfare Fund Rules

Official Statement Summary
