The National Informatics Centre (NIC), under the Ministry of Electronics & IT, has released the Scientist-B Recruitment 2026 Notification for 243 vacancies across multiple disciplines. This is a Group-A Gazetted post offering an excellent opportunity for engineering graduates with a valid GATE score.

As per official notification , candidates will be shortlisted based on GATE 2024/2025/2026 scores.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have any of the following:

• B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech
• M.Sc / MCA / M.Phil

Or equivalent qualification in relevant fields

• GATE Requirement

Valid GATE Score in:

• CS (Computer Science)
• EC (Electronics)
• DA (Data Science & AI)

 Age Limit (As on 31 March 2026)

• General: 30 Years

• OBC: 33 Years

• SC/ST: 35 Years

• PwBD: Up to 40–45 Years (as per category)

Age relaxation applicable as per Govt rules .

Salary Details

• Pay Level: Level 10 (7th CPC)
• Salary Range: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500/month

Selection Process

The selection process includes:

1. Shortlisting based on GATE Score

2. Personal Interview

Weightage:

• GATE Score → 60%

• Interview → 40%
