The Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued an important update regarding the processing of pension cases for retiring employees. As per G.O.RT.No. 1438 dated 13-04-2026, the Finance Department has officially fixed the cut-off date for submission of physical pension proposals and directed all departments to shift to the NIDHI Portal (RBPS) for online processing.
This update is crucial for government employees who are retiring soon and for all drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs), heads of offices, and pension sanctioning authorities.
AP Pension Processing Goes Online Through NIDHI Portal
The Andhra Pradesh Government has already introduced the Retirement Benefits Processing System (RBPS) through the NIDHI Portal to streamline pension case processing.
From now onwards, all pension-related proposals are to be submitted through the online portal to ensure faster and transparent processing.
Important Cut-Off Dates for Pension Proposals
The government has clearly specified the final dates for accepting paper-based pension proposals:
Physical proposals accepted up to: 30 April 2026
Physical proposals not accepted from: 1 May 2026 onwards
This means that all pending physical pension files must reach the Office of the Accountant General (A&E) on or before 30th April 2026.
What Happens After 1 May 2026?
According to the order, from 1st May 2026, the PAG (A&E) will not accept any physical pension proposals.
All pension applications must be submitted only through the RBPS system on the NIDHI Portal.
This move aims to ensure a seamless digital pension processing system and avoid delays for retiring employees.
Instructions to All Departments
The Andhra Pradesh Government has directed:
All Secretariat Departments
Heads of Departments
District Collectors
District Judges
Concerned Authorities
to ensure that all pending physical pension proposals are submitted before the deadline.
Any delay may lead to hardship for retiring employees.
Why This Update Is Important
This order is highly important for:
Government employees retiring in 2026
DDOs and pension authorities
Treasury and accounts officials
District-level administrative offices
Timely submission is essential to avoid pension delays.
Conclusion
The AP Government’s decision to fully shift pension processing to the NIDHI Portal RBPS marks a major digital reform in pension administration.
Employees and departments are advised to complete all pending physical submissions before 30 April 2026.
