APSWREIS Centres of Excellence 2026 – AP Government Approves 3 Residential IIT-JEE & NEET Coaching Centres

In a major boost to higher education opportunities for Scheduled Caste (SC) students, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued G.O.Rt.No.144, dated 11 July 2026, approving the establishment of three Centres of Excellence (CoEs) under APSWREIS. These centres will provide intensive residential coaching for IIT-JEE and NEET examinations beginning from the 2026-27 academic year. 

The initiative is aimed at increasing the representation of SC students in premier institutions such as IITs, NITs, AIIMS, Government Medical Colleges, and other Institutions of National Importance.

Centres of Excellence Locations

The Government has approved three Centres of Excellence at:

1. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Gurukulam for Girls, Megadrigadda, Visakhapatnam

2. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Gurukulam for Boys, Amaravati (Thadikonda), Guntur

3. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Gurukulam for Boys, Kota, Nellore 

Annual Budget

Each Centre of Excellence has been sanctioned an approximate annual budget of ₹3.9 crore.

This budget covers:

IIT-JEE Coaching

NEET Coaching

Faculty Expenses

Academic Activities
Residential facilities, food, maintenance and other institutional expenses will be met separately from APSWREIS budget allocations. 

Student Intake

Each Centre will admit 600 Intermediate students.

MPC (IIT-JEE)

First Year – 150 Students

Second Year – 150 Students

BiPC (NEET)

First Year – 150 Students

Second Year – 150 Students

Total per Centre: 600 Students (300 Boys + 300 Girls). 

Objective

The main objective of these Centres of Excellence is to:

Improve academic excellence among SC students.

Prepare students for IIT-JEE and NEET.

Increase admissions into IITs, NITs, AIIMS and Government Medical Colleges.

Provide expert faculty, mentoring and competitive examination preparation. 

Important Instructions

APSWREIS will identify reputed coaching agencies.

Centres will start functioning from the 2026-27 academic year.

Performance indicators (KPIs) will be fixed for selected agencies.
