📢 Latest Update: The instructions are addressed to all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) in the state for necessary action regarding APSEGIS final settlement claims.

APSEGIS – Important Details

APSEGIS is the Andhra Pradesh State Employees Group Insurance Scheme. It is a mandatory life insurance-cum-savings scheme introduced in 1984, replacing the Family Benefit Fund. The scheme is mandatory for eligible State Government employees drawing salaries from the Consolidated Fund of the State.

The latest instructions explain the procedure for processing final APSEGIS claims through the NIDHI Portal under RBPS.

APSEGIS Subscription Amount

From 1 November 1994, the subscription for each unit is ₹15. Out of this amount, ₹4.50 is allocated towards insurance and ₹10.50 towards the savings portion.

Between 1984 and 1994, the subscription was ₹10 per unit, of which ₹3.125 was for insurance and ₹6.875 was for savings.

APSEGIS Final Payment

On Retirement

On retirement or cessation of employment, the accumulated Savings Fund along with applicable interest is payable. The accumulated value of all subscribed units is taken into account.

On Death While in Service

In the event of death while in service, a lump-sum insurance payment of ₹15,000 per unit is payable along with the accumulated Savings Fund and applicable interest.

Payment When Employee's Whereabouts Are Not Known

The circular provides that the Savings Fund is refundable after the expiry of one year following the month of disappearance, while the Insurance Fund is refundable after the expiry of seven years following the month of disappearance.

The family must lodge a complaint with the concerned police station and obtain a report confirming that the employee could not be traced. An indemnity bond is also required from the nominee or dependents.
