IBPS CSA Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process primarily includes:

1. Online Preliminary Examination

2. Online Main Examination

3. Local Language Proficiency requirements, where applicable

4. Provisional allotment and document/eligibility verification as applicable

The Preliminary Examination is a screening stage. The notification clearly states that marks obtained in the Online Main Examination only will be considered for final merit listing.

IBPS CSA Preliminary Exam Pattern 2026

The Preliminary Examination is an online objective test carrying 100 marks.

Test Questions Marks Time

English Language 30 30 20 minutes
Numerical Ability 35 35 20 minutes
Reasoning Ability 35 35 20 minutes
Total 100 100 60 minutes

Candidates must qualify in each of the three tests by obtaining cut-off marks decided by IBPS. An adequate number of candidates will then be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

IBPS CSA Main Exam Pattern 2026

The Main Examination consists of 160 questions for 200 marks, with a total duration of 125 minutes.

Test Questions Marks Time

General/Financial Awareness 40 50 20 minutes
General English 40 40 35 minutes
Reasoning Ability 40 60 35 minutes
Quantitative Aptitude 40 50 35 minutes
Total 160 200 125 minutes

The individual tests are separately timed.

Negative Marking

Negative marking applies to both the Preliminary and Main objective examinations.

For every incorrect answer, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.

There is no penalty when a question is left unanswered.

Candidates should therefore avoid unnecessary guesswork when they cannot reasonably eliminate options.

Final Merit and Provisional Allotment

Only marks obtained in the Online Main Examination are considered for final merit listing.

Candidates must obtain the required minimum score in each Main Examination test as well as the prescribed minimum total score. Cut-offs depend on factors including State/UT-wise vacancies.

The Main Examination carries 200 marks, which will be converted to a score out of 100 for provisional allotment.

Provisional allotment is expected in March 2027 according to the tentative schedule.

How to Apply for IBPS CSA Recruitment 2026

Applications are accepted online only. Candidates should access the official IBPS portal and open the CRP CSA section, followed by the online application option for CRP Customer Service Associates (CRP-CSA-XVI).

New applicants need to complete registration by entering their basic information. The system generates a provisional registration number and password, which candidates should retain carefully.

During the application process, candidates are required to upload documents such as their photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration. The notification also requires the SSC/SSLC/10th Standard or equivalent certificate and other applicable certificates. A photograph must additionally be captured/uploaded through webcam or mobile phone during registration.

Candidates should carefully verify all entries before completing registration and ensure that the State selected for provisional allotment is correct.

Online Payment Methods

The application fee can be paid online through supported modes including Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets and UPI, according to the notification.

Candidates should retain the application and payment records after successful submission.

Important Documents

Candidates should keep their educational and identity documents ready throughout the recruitment process. At joining/document verification, applicable candidates may need the system-generated application printout, date-of-birth proof, valid photo identity proof, graduation mark sheets/certificates, local-language study evidence, category certificate, EWS certificate, disability certificate or other eligibility documents as prescribed.

Failure to produce required eligibility documents at the appropriate stage can make the candidate ineligible for further recruitment processing

Call Letter Instructions

IBPS will make Preliminary and Main Examination call letters available online. No hard copy of the call letter or information handout will be sent by post or courier.

Candidates will need their Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth to download the call letter.

A particularly important instruction concerns the Preliminary call letter: it is authenticated/stamped at the examination venue and returned to the candidate. Candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination must retain and bring this authenticated Preliminary call letter and authenticated/stamped ID-proof copy along with the Main call letter and required documents.

Why IBPS CSA Recruitment 2026 Is Important for Bank Job Aspirants

Because the registration period ends on 21 August 2026, candidates should verify their graduation status, age, local-language eligibility, category documents and uploaded documents before final submission.
