The Government has also revised the DA rate for State Government employees drawing pay under the Revised UGC Pay Scales, 2006.

The DA has been increased from:

239% → 246% of Basic Pay

This revision is effective from 01-07-2024. 4

The revised rate is also applicable to eligible teaching staff of Government and Aided Affiliated Degree Colleges, Universities and Government Polytechnics drawing pay under the specified UGC/AICTE Pay Scales, 2006.

DA for UGC Pay Scales 2016

For employees drawing pay under the Revised UGC Pay Scales, 2016, the DA rate has been revised from:

50% → 53% of Basic Pay

AP DA Arrears for 26 Months

  • August 2027
  • October 2027

For OPS employees, the applicable amount will be credited to the GPF account. For CPS employees, including eligible PTD employees governed by CPS, the amount will be paid in cash. EPS-95 employees will receive arrears according to the applicable rules. 9

DA Arrears for Employees Who Retire

The order provides a special provision for employees who have retired or are due to retire during the period from 01-07-2024 to 30-04-2027, inclusive of the dates.

Their DA arrears shall be drawn and paid in cash, subject to the provisions specified in the Government Order. 10

What Happens if an Employee Dies?

The Government Order also provides that if an employee dies before the issue of these orders, the employee's legal heir(s) shall be entitled to the DA arrears. 11
