The notification specifies 8 PwBD-reserved vacancies in GSI and 2 PwBD-reserved vacancies in CGWB, subject to the conditions mentioned in the official notice.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
Candidates must have attained 21 years and must not have attained 32 years as on 01 January 2027. Accordingly, a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02 January 1995 and not later than 01 January 2006.
Age relaxation is applicable to eligible categories such as SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD and certain Government servants as per the UPSC rules.

Examination Pattern
The Combined Geo-Scientist Examination consists of three successive stages:
Stage-I – Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination consists of two objective-type papers for the respective stream. Paper-I is General Studies and Paper-II is the stream-specific subject.

Each Preliminary paper is of 2 hours duration. There is negative marking for wrong answers. One-third of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for an incorrect answer. No penalty is imposed for questions left unanswered.
Stage-II – Main Examination
The Main Examination consists of three conventional/descriptive papers for each stream. Each paper carries 200 marks and is of 3 hours duration.

Stage-III – Personality Test / Interview
Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination are called for the Personality Test. The Personality Test carries 200 marks.

Application Fee
The examination fee is Rs. 200 for candidates who are required to pay the fee. Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories who meet the applicable conditions are exempted from payment of the fee.
OBC/EWS candidates are not automatically exempted from the fee and are required to pay the prescribed fee.

Selection Process
