Walk-in-Interviews for the Award of DRDO Research Associate (RA) (07 Posts) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) (11 Posts) 

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), a specialized laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is dedicated to advancing the readiness,preparedness, and strategic resilience of the armed forces against radiological threats. The institute focuses on the development of radiation countermeasures with its mission of "Atom for Peace" and "Peace from Atom". INMAS plays a critical role in quickly estimating absorbed radiation doses for effective triage and advising first responders and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) on immediate remedial actions. It also provides tailored cbRNe training modules for military, paramilitary, elite forces, and national organizations handling security crisis. Furthermore, the institute explores the neural bases of cognitive and behavioural traits crucial to military performance, aiming to safeguard the health and wellbeing of soldiers and first responders in environments with ionizing radiation and other occupational hazards. 

INMAS invites young and meritorious Indian nationals for walk-in-interview, who desire to pursuedefence related research as Research Associate (RA) & Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in following subjects & research areas:

General Conditions:

1) For the Post Code RA-01 to RA-07:

i. Age: Maximum of 35 years for RA post as on the closing date of receipt of applications. 5years’ relaxation to SC/ST candidates, 3 years to OBC candidates, and other entitled categories as per govt. rules.

ii. Emolument: Rs.67000/- + HRA as per rules applicable in DRDO.

iii. Tenure: Tenure of RA would be limited to a maximum period of two years.

iv. Only those candidates who have been awarded Degree/Provisional Degree certificate are eligible to apply.

2) For the Post Code JRF-01 to JRF-10:

i. Age: Maximum of 28 years for JRF post as on the closing date of receipt of applications. 5years’ relaxation to SC/ST candidates, 3 years to OBC candidates, and other entitled categories as per govt. rules.

ii. Monthly Stipend: Rs. 37000/- + HRA as per rules applicable in DRDO.

iii. Tenure: Tenure of JRF would be limited to a maximum period of five years. Selected JRF would work initially for first two years as JRF and would subsequently be elevated as SRF for the remaining three years, subject to satisfactory performance, assessed annually as per DRDO guidelines.

General Instructions:

1. How to Apply: After ensuring all the eligibility conditions, Application form can be downloaded from the website www.drdo.gov.in.

2. The candidate should send scanned copy of duly filled signed application form along with supporting documents (educational qualification, matriculation certificate/birth certificate in support of date of birth, GATE/NET score card valid as on closing date of application, caste certificate, if applicable) to inmasacademiccell@gmail.com and sonia.inmas@gov.in.

3. Scanned file should be in a single PDF file [File name should be: SUBJECT CODE_YOURNAME_DATE OF EMAIL].

4. Last date to send online application form by email is 27 Nov 2024.

5. Shortlisted candidates will be communicated through email to appear for the interview.

6. Candidates should bring Application form along with original certificates/ testimonials with complete bio-data on the date of interview & submit self-attested photocopies of the same, failing which the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the interview.

7. Reporting time is 0800h-0930h on the date of Interview, at Main Gate Reception, INMAS,Timarpur, Delhi. Late comers will not be allowed.

8. Written Test may be conducted for RAs/JRFs from 0930-1030 hrs. (depending on thenumber of candidates appearing on the date of interview) and only those candidates who qualify in the written test shall be interviewed on the same day. 

9. The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on the date mentioned against the post. 

10. The selected candidate(s) may be allowed to register for PhD with any recognizedU niversity/Institution during the tenure of fellowship.

11. Candidates presently employed in Government Departments/ PSU's/ Autonomous Bodies will be required to produce NOC at the time of interview.

12. Please note: Electronic items like smart/ mobile phones/pen drive/ laptop/ CD-ROM etc.are strictly not allowed inside INMAS Campus.

13. Antecedents of candidate will be verified again at the time of joining, if selected.

14. No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview or for joining, if selected.

15. Number of vacancies may change as per organizational requirement without any prior notice.

16. It may be noted that mere offer of fellowship does not confer on fellows any right of  absorption in DRDO.

17. No candidate shall claim admission as a matter of right. The admission shall be entirely at the discretion of the Selection Committee of the Institute, which may refuse to admit any  candidate without assigning any reason thereof.

18. Director INMAS reserves the right to scrap the whole selection process anytime, without  any prior information and reason assigned therefor.

19. Applicants are advised to monitor DRDO website for any updates/changes.

20. How to reach the venue of Interview:

INMAS is located 1 km from Vishwavidyalaya Metro station, Delhi towards Timarpur

area/ Opposite to University of Delhi (North Campus) & Nearest Landmark is SBI ATM

SSPL Branch, Timarpur, Delhi-110054.

Note:- Candidates having their own fellowship from any government agencies like CSIR/UGC/DST-

INSPIRE/DBT etc. & essential qualification will also be considered for Junior Research Fellowship

position. However, these positions are apart from DRDO Fellowship.
