Meeting on implementation of MDM in Govt. junior colleges through virtual mode 20.12.2024
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to extend the Dokka Seethamma Madhyahna Badi Bhojanam (MDM) scheme to all junior colleges across the state. There are approximately 475 junior colleges serving around 1,48,923 students. To implement this, junior colleges have been mapped to nearby government high schools, which will provide midday meals to the junior college students from the same schools. The details are here under

Further, a meeting was conducted with all the Head Masters of mapped High Schools and Principals of Government Jr. Colleges through virtual mode on 20-12-2024 by the Director of Intermediate Education, A.P and Director, Mid Day Meal School Sanitation, A.P. During the meeting certain Head Masters informed that, existing Cook Cum Helpers are not sufficient to prepare Mid-Day Meal to the students of Govt Jr. Colleges and requested for additional Cook Cum Helpers to the mapped High Schools as well as NGOs.
In this connection, the criteria for engaging of the Cook Cum Helpers in mapped schools is as follows
For colleges which are Consider 70% college enrollment duly mapped to nearby High following the existing MDM guidelines for schools engaging of Cook Cum helpers mapped to NGOS
For colleges which are Engage one Cook Cum Helper and tagged to college for serving food and boiling of eggs etc
Therefore, the District Educational Officers across the state are requested to engage the Cook Cum Helpers (CCHS) in accordance with the existing guidelines and criteria as mentioned above and ensure that, they are on boarded prior to the launch of the program and also requested to coordinate with District Vocational Educational Officers for smooth functioning of the scheme.
