Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission Announces Recruitment for Forest Section Officer
Key Highlights of the Recruitment:
- Total Vacancies: A total of 100 vacancies are available, including those reserved for Meritorious Sportspersons (MSP).
- Pay Scale: The selected candidates will be in the pay scale of Rs. 32,670 to Rs. 1,01,970.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old as of July 1, 2025. Age relaxations are applicable for certain categories, including 5 years for SC, ST, BC, and EWS candidates, and 10 years for SC/ST Carried Forward vacancies.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the FSO post, candidates must:
- Be of sound health and free from any bodily defect.
- Possess good character and antecedents.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Botany, Forestry, Horticulture, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Agriculture, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Be a citizen of India.
Physical Requirements:
The recruitment also includes specific physical standards:
- Male Candidates: Minimum height of 163 cm, chest not less than 84 cm on full inspiration, with an expansion of at least 5 cm. A walking test of 25 Kms to be completed in 4 hours.
- Women Candidates: Minimum height of 150 cm, chest not less than 79 cm on full inspiration, with an expansion of at least 5 cm. A walking test of 16 Kms to be completed in 4 hours.
- Relaxations in height are available for certain categories like Gurkhas, Nepalese, Assamese, and Scheduled Tribes.
- Candidates must also possess normal eyesight and pass a Medical Examination.
- Bonus marks will be awarded to NCC certificate holders (C, B, and A certificates).
Reservations:
Vertical reservations are applicable for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections. Horizontal reservations are provided for Women (33 1/3%), Ex-servicemen (2%), and Meritorious Sports Persons (3%). Candidates claiming reservation benefits must produce the necessary certificates from competent authorities.

Government residents), and unemployed youth.
