Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit
- General (Open): 21 to 38 years
- SC/ST/OBC/SBC (Maharashtra Govt. categories): 21 to 43 years
- High Court/Government Employees: Minimum 21 years, no maximum age limit
Educational Qualification
1. Degree from a recognized university (Law graduates preferred).
Relaxation: Candidates with 10 years as Stenographer (Lower Grade) or 8 years as Stenographer (Higher Grade) in Courts/Tribunals/Advocate General’s Office are eligible even without a degree.
2. English Shorthand: 120 w.p.m. or above (Govt. Certificate Exam/ITI).
3. English Typing: 50 w.p.m. or above (Govt. Certificate/ITI/GCC-TBC).
4. Computer Knowledge: Must possess GCC-TBC or equivalent recognized certificates in MS Office/Word/Open Office, etc.
Other Conditions
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Should not have more than two children born after 28/03/2006.
- Should not have been convicted or disqualified by any court/commission.
- Must have good character and antecedents.
Selection Process
The recruitment will be conducted in three stages:
1. Shorthand Test (40 Marks)
Dictation of 600 words in 5 minutes and transcription in 35 minutes.
Minimum passing marks: 20.
2. Typing Test (40 Marks)
Typing of 500 words in 10 minutes.
Minimum passing marks: 20.
3. Viva-Voce (20 Marks)
Personal interview for shortlisted candidates.
Minimum passing marks: 08.
Candidates who qualify in Shorthand will be called for Typing Test, and those who qualify Typing Test will proceed to Viva-voce.
