The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the CTET February 2026 Notification. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level exam for candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in government, aided, and many private schools.

As per the official Information Bulletin (CTET-February 2026), here are the complete details every candidate must know.

CTET February 2026: Important Dates:

  • Online Application Starts: 27 November 2025
  • Last Date to Apply: 18 December 2025 (till 11:59 PM)
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: 18 December 2025 (till 11:59 PM)
  • Exam Date: 08 February 2026 (Sunday)

CTET 2026 Exam Schedule:

08.02.2026 Paper II Morning 09:30 AM – 12:00 PM

08.02.2026 Paper I Evening 02:30 PM – 05:00 PM

How to Apply for CTET 2026

Steps for online application as listed:

1. Visit the official website: https://ctet.nic.in

2. Click Apply Online

3. Fill the application form and note your Registration/Application No.

4. Upload scanned photograph (10–100 KB) and signature (3–30 KB)

5. Pay the exam fee through Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking

6. Download the Confirmation Page for future reference

CTET 2026 Application Fee:

  • General / OBC (NCL) ₹1000 ₹1200
  • SC / ST / PwD ₹500 ₹600
  • GST is applicable.

CTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility requirements are based on NCTE norms:

  • Minimum qualifications for teaching posts must match NCTE guidelines.
  • Candidates must verify eligibility themselves—appearing for CTET does not guarantee eligibility.
  • 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.

  • Paper I (Classes I – V)
  • 150 MCQs | 150 Marks

Child Development & Pedagogy – 30

  • Language I – 30
  • Language II – 30
  • Mathematics – 30
  • Environmental Studies – 30

Paper II (Classes VI – VIII)

  • 150 MCQs | 150 Marks
  • Child Development & Pedagogy – 30
  • Language I – 30
  • Language II – 30

  • Mathematics & Science – 60 (for Math/Science teacher)

OR

  • Social Studies / Social Science – 60
  • Syllabus is described in Appendix I (Pages 14–21).

CTET Language Options:

  • Candidates can choose any two languages from the list of 20 on Page 9.
  • Languages include: English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Sanskrit, etc.

CTET 2026 Exam Cities

  • The exam will be conducted in 130+ cities across India (Appendix III, Pages 21–24).

Some major cities include:

  • Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Patna, Jaipur, Bhopal, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Guwahati.
  • Candidates must choose 4 different city preferences.

CTET Admit Card 2026:

  • Admit cards will be available on the official website.
  • Candidates must report 120 minutes before the exam.
  • Late entry after 09:30 AM (Paper II) or after 02:30 PM (Paper I) is NOT allowed.

CTET Certificate Validity

  • The CTET certificate is valid for lifetime.
  • Candidates may reappear to improve their score.
  • Certificates & mark sheets will be issued digitally via DigiLocker with secure QR codes.

Re-evaluation Policy:

  • No re-checking or re-evaluation of CTET results is permitted.

Facilities for PwD Candidates

  • Scribe/reader allowed as per RPWD Act 2016 provisions
  • 50 minutes extra time
  • Large-font question papers for visually impaired candidates
  • OMR sheets & answer keys will be displayed online for 2–3 days
  • Candidates can challenge answers @ ₹1000 per question
