The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially announced a change in the General Holiday for the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan) in 2026.
As per G.O.Rt.No. 612 issued by the General Administration (Poll.B) Department, the holiday has been rescheduled from March 20, 2026 (Friday) to March 21, 2026 (Saturday).
Why Was the Holiday Changed?
Initially, the Andhra Pradesh Government had declared March 20, 2026 as a public holiday for Eid-Ul-Fitr. However, based on inputs from the AP State Waqf Board, the festival is likely to be observed on March 21, 2026, depending on the moon sighting on March 20, 2026.
After reviewing the situation, the government decided to revise the holiday date accordingly.
