The Government of Andhra Pradesh, through the Swachha Andhra Corporation, has officially announced the “Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra (SASA)” program for March 2026. This initiative focuses on transforming institutions into Zero Waste Institutions and promoting sustainable environmental practices across the state.

According to the official circular dated 25 March 2026, the program will be conducted on 28 March 2026 in Chirala, Bapatla District, with active participation from government departments and public institutions.

The core objective is to ensure that:

Schools, hospitals, government offices, and hostels adopt zero waste practices

Promote waste segregation, recycling, and sustainability

Encourage public participation and environmental awareness

Key Focus Areas

All institutions are required to implement the following:

✅ 100% waste segregation (wet, dry & hazardous waste)

✅ On-site composting or biogas units for wet waste

✅ Scientific management of dry waste through recyclers

✅ Elimination of littering and mixed waste disposal

✅ Reduction of single-use plastics

✅ Adoption of eco-friendly alternatives
