Andhra Pradesh is making significant strides in enhancing the quality of education across the state! In a recent development, the State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, A.P., has announced the release of Annual School Grants amounting to Rs. 859.75 Lakhs for 855 PM SHRI schools for the financial year 2025-26.
This crucial funding, approved by the Government of India under the PM SHRI PAB (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) initiative, is set to be a game-changer for these schools. The primary objective of these grants is to address quality-related expenses, with a strong emphasis on improving learning outcomes for students.
Key Highlights of the Grant Allocation:
- Focus on Quality Education: The funds are specifically earmarked to be utilized as per the guidelines set by the Government of India, ensuring that the resources directly contribute to enhancing the quality of education.
- Emphasis on Learning Outcomes: A significant portion of the grant is dedicated to initiatives that will directly impact and improve student learning.
- Swachhta Action Plan Integration: Demonstrating a holistic approach to school development, at least 10% of the allocated funds are mandated for the Swachhta Action Plan. This will ensure better water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities in both elementary and secondary schools, tailored to their student strength.
The distribution of funds takes into account the student strength of the schools, ensuring equitable and effective allocation:
- Schools with students up to 100: 19 schools will receive ₹0.50 Lakhs each.
- Schools with students between 100 and 1000 (inclusive): 37 schools will receive ₹0.75 Lakhs each.
- Schools with students between 250 and 1000 (inclusive): 737 schools will receive ₹1 Lakh each.
- Schools with more than 1000 students: 52 schools will receive ₹1.5 Lakhs each.
This strategic distribution ensures that schools, regardless of their size, receive adequate support to implement necessary improvements.
Seamless Fund Disbursement:
The sanctioned amount will be directly disbursed to the PFMS (Public Financial Management System) accounts of the 855 PM SHRI schools. This streamlined process ensures transparency and efficient delivery of funds.
Call to Action for Schools:
The Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha have been directed to inform all Phase-I and Phase-II PM SHRI school heads to provide a joint undertaking for receiving the funds. They are also responsible for ensuring that all expenditure is properly accounted for and uploaded by the concerned Head Masters and approved by the Mandal Educational Officers (MEOs).
This initiative underscores the commitment of both the central and state governments to strengthen the educational infrastructure and provide a conducive learning environment for students in Andhra Pradesh. We look forward to seeing the positive impact these grants will have on the educational landscape of the state
