Staff Selection Commission Announces MTS and Havaldar Examination 2025

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), under the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training, has released a notice for the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2025. Key Dates to Remember:

  • Dates for submission of online applications: June 26, 2025, to July 24, 2025.
  • Last date and time for receipt of online applications: July 24, 2025 (23:00 hrs). 
  • Last date and time for making online fee payment: July 25, 2025 (23:00 hrs). 
  • Dates of Window for Application Form Correction and online payment of Correction Charges: July 29, 2025, to July 31, 2025 (23:00 hrs).
  • Schedule of Computer Based Examination: September 20, 2025, to October 24, 2025.

  • MTS: 1075 (Tentative vacancies)
  • Havaldar in CBIC and CBN: Vacancies are being collected.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Limit (as on August 1, 2025):
  • NTS: 18-25 years (candidates born not before August 2, 2000, and not later than August 1, 2007).
  • Havaldar in CBIC and CBN, and a few posts of MTS: 18-27 years (candidates born not before August 2, 1998, and not later than August 1, 2007).
  • Age relaxations are applicable for various categories as per government rules.

 Essential Educational Qualifications: (as on August 1, 2025): Candidates must have passed the Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board.

How to Apply:

Applications must be submitted online through the new SSC website: https://ssc.nic.in/  or via the mySSC mobile application (downloadable from Google Play Store).

Important instructions for applying:

  • All candidates who have not generated their One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website ([suspicious link removed]) will be required to do so. [cite_start]The old OTR from [suspicious link removed] will not be functional.
  • Candidates are advised to opt for Aadhaar Based Authentication during OTR. Applications submitted through Aadhaar Authentication will not be rejected if the photograph and/or signature are not as per prescribed standards. [cite_start]Such candidates will also not need to produce recent color photographs or original valid Photo Identity proof for admission to the examination venue.
  • The application module is designed to capture a live photograph of the candidate. Candidates should find a place with good light and a plain background, ensure the camera is at eye level, and look straight ahead with their face fully inside the delineated area. [cite_start]Caps, masks, glasses/spectacles, or earphones/headphones should not be worn while capturing the photo.
  • Scanned signatures in JPEG/JPG format (10 to 20 KB) with dimensions of about 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height) are required.
Application Fee:

  • Fee Payable: ₹100/- (Rupees one hundred only).
  • Exemptions: Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from fee payment.
  • Payment Mode: Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit card.
Examination Scheme:

  • MTS: The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (CBE).
  • Havaldar: The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (CBE) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST).
