Who Can Apply? Important Eligibility Criteria
Before you get excited, make sure you check all these boxes:
- Nationality: Must be an Indian national.
- Educational Board: Your degree/diploma must be from a recognized University/Technical Board in the Southern Region (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Puducherry).
- Passing Year: You are only eligible if you passed your qualifying degree/diploma in or after July 2023. Candidates who passed before this date are not eligible.
- Previous Training: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act of 1961/1973 are not eligible.
- Course Type: Only regular, full-time courses are accepted. Sandwich courses, private degrees, distance education, or short-term certificate courses are not acceptable.
- Higher Studies: Candidates pursuing higher studies (e.g., M.Tech after B.Tech or B.Tech after Diploma) are not eligible to apply.
How to Apply: A Step-by-Step Guide
The application process is entirely online. Follow these steps carefully:
1. NATS Portal Registration (Mandatory First Step):
- Go to the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal: www.mhrdnats.gov.in
- Enroll yourself and get your Apprenticeship Registration Number. You will need this number during the application.
2. UMANG Portal Application (Main Application):
- Visit the UMANG Portal through this link: https://web.umang.gov.in/landing/
- Register/Login and find the NRSC apprenticeship advertisement.
- Fill out the application form carefully.
3. Documents to Upload (Scan in JPG/JPEG/PNG format):
- All semester/year mark sheets (in one file, max. 1MB)
- Degree/Diploma/Provisional Certificate (max. 1MB)
- A recent photograph (max. 50 KB)
- Signature (max. 50 KB)
- SC/ST/OBC candidates: Caste Certificate from competent authority (max. 50 KB).
- PWBD candidates: Disability certificate from competent authority.
- CGPA to Percentage Conversion Certificate (if applicable).
