The Reliance Foundation offers two primary scholarship programs: the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships and the Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships. Both are awarded on a merit-cum-means basis to help Indian students pursue higher education. Applications for the 2025-26 academic year for both scholarships are open until October 4, 2025.

Undergraduate Scholarships

The undergraduate scholarship program supports up to 5,000 meritorious students from across the country with a grant of up to ₹2 lakh over the duration of their degree.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be a resident Indian citizen.
  • Have passed the 12th standard with a minimum of 60% marks. 
  • Be currently enrolled in the first year of a regular, full-time undergraduate degree course in any stream. 
  • Have a household income of less than or equal to ₹15 lakhs (with a preference for those with income less than ₹2.5 lakhs).
  • Complete a mandatory online aptitude test.

Application Process

The application process is a four-step selection process: 

Online Application: Fill out the online application form with personal and academic details and upload required documents, including:

  • Passport-size photograph
  •  Proof of permanent address 
  • Class 10 and 12 marksheets
  • Bonafide Student Certificate from your current college
  • Proof of family income
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)
  • Aptitude Test: Complete a mandatory 60-minute online aptitude test with 60 multiple-choice questions covering verbal, analytical, logical, and numerical ability. 
  • Initial Selection: Applications are evaluated based on a combination of the aptitude test score and the information provided in the application.
  • Scholarship Announcement: Up to 5,000 scholars are announced.

Postgraduate Scholarships

The postgraduate scholarship program provides a grant of up to ₹6 lakh to 100 of India's brightest students pursuing postgraduate degrees in select "future-ready" fields.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be a resident Indian citizen.
  • Be currently enrolled in the first year of an eligible, regular, full-time postgraduate degree program in India.
  • Have a GATE score of 550-1,000 OR an undergraduate CGPA of 7.5 or above.

Application Process:

The postgraduate application process is similar to the undergraduate one but with some additional requirements:

  • Online Application: Submit an online application with personal, academic, and extracurricular details. This includes two required essays (Personal Statement and Statement of Purpose) and two letters of reference (one academic and one character reference).
  •  Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
  • Scholarship Announcement: The 100 scholars are announced.
